Beg bugs myths and facts, by Professional Pest Control Managers at Ultima Search
Once a pest of the past, bedbugs now infest every state in India. Small, flattened insects that feed solely on mammalian and avian blood have been living with humans since ancient times. In the past 10 years, however, the pests have staged a comeback worldwide — an outbreak after the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney was a harbinger of things to come. This revival may be the worst yet, experts say, due to densely populated urban areas, global travel and increasing pesticide resistance — something to consider as the monsoon season gets underway.
Spreading rapidly with the bedbugs is a mass of misinformation about their biology and behaviour.
Straight from the experts, here are the facts behind some of the most notorious myths about the diminutive bloodsuckers, Bed Bugs.
Myth 1: Bedbugs can fly Fact: Bedbugs lack wings, and therefore cannot fly. On their own, bedbugs crawl about a meter a minute.
Myth 2: Bedbugs reproduce quickly Fact: Compared with other insects, bedbugs are slow to reproduce: Each adult female produces about one egg per day; a common housefly lays 500 eggs over three to four days. Each bedbug egg takes 10 days to hatch and another five to six weeks for the offspring to develop into an adult.
Myth 3: Bedbugs can typically live a year without a meal Fact: Scientists debate this point, but evidence suggests that at normal room temperature, about 23 degrees Celsius, bedbugs can only survive two to three months without a blood meal. But because they are cold-blooded, their metabolism will slow down in chillier climates, and the insects may live up to a year without feeding.
Myth 4: Bedbugs bite only at night Fact: Although bedbugs are generally nocturnal, they’re like humans — if they’re hungry, they’ll get up and get something to eat. If you go away to visit a friend for a week and you come back and sit down on the couch, even though it’s daytime the bedbugs will come looking for you. Keeping a light on, then, unfortunately, does not keep these tiny vampires away.
Myth 5: Bedbugs live exclusively in mattresses Fact: Bedbugs spread away from beds into living areas and can be seen on any surface, including chairs, railings and ceilings.
Knowing how to repel bedbugs becomes the biggest positive in such situations. At the infant stage of an infestation, we will want to try as much as possible to get rid of bed bugs. It isn’t as easy as repelling mosquitoes and cockroaches. Bedbugs are smaller, multiply quickly, and cause a bigger nuisance.

This will just function as a deterrent if you can capture the feathery intruders prior to they start developing nests. You can buy an automatic water jet which will certainly protect the border from the pesky birds:
- Install a scarecrow. There are several kinds of bird-scaring decoys available, but the most effective often tend to be those with the shape of a hawk as well as the ones that make and also move sound. You will certainly require to change the decoy's setting on a regular basis though, or else, the pigeons will identify that there is no genuine risk and also may also mockingly perch on top of it. - Use reflective surfaces. This is an old gardeners' technique to discourage birds. A lot of us have actually seen this being used. For instance, it is usual to see yards embellished with CDs or other shiny surfaces. Bear in mind, they might not be excessively effective on their very own, however, when used together with the techniques above, the pigeons will rapidly recognise that they are not welcome, specifically if there is a handful of birds.
Honey service. This may seem weird considering we previously said not to supply a food resource yet birds do not such as landing on sticky surfaces. Spreading out some honey on roof steps or porch can help to keep them away. Simply bear in mind that the honey might attract various other unwanted visitors, such as wasps, ants, and also flies.

However, you will need to replace the flavours on a routine basis for them to remain effective.
Family pets. Pigeons are not the greatest fans of pet dogs and they dislike pet cats a lot more. Having a pet in your home to prowl around can considerably discourage the feathery close friends.

The major downside of this approach is that you must examine the internet on a regular basis and also release any type of captured pigeons.
Phony predators. This technique is really comparable to installing a pigeon scare. Buying a life-size plastic owl or serpent and putting it on your porch, roof covering, patio area, or deck can make the pigeons reconsider the touchdown. If the plaything is automated and also actions, you get reward points.
The Rice Misconception: There's a misconception that feeding rice to pigeons will eliminate them when it begins expanding in their tummies. The truth is, as soon as the rice begins increasing the size of, the bird will just spew it out and stroll away unscathed.
Just how to maintain pigeons far from my house
As briefly pointed out over, pigeons are extremely adaptable, rather intelligent and are courageous in the face of humans. These characteristics combine to make pigeons a challenging pest to prevent. In order to maintain the parasite-laden satanic force spawn away, it is best to use multiple pigeon countermeasures.
The most effective place to start on your quest to rid on your own of your feathery housemates is to evaluate the outside of your home as well as make nesting areas as unwelcoming as feasible.
Make roosting areas uninviting
Set up anti-roosting spike strips. Select strategical places such as home window sills and ledges to hinder pigeons from landing.
Connect a string across roosting areas. Strings tied one inch above the nesting locations will certainly make landing uncomfortable for pigeons.
Install sloping covers to window sills and also steps. If there are no level surfaces to stabilise and also develop nests on, the pigeons will certainly proceed to discover one more area to call home.
Don't feed them. Like most pets, if you feed pigeons, they will certainly maintain coming back as well as the abundance of food will additionally bring in others. It is a little-known truth that pigeons are prolific gossipers.
Do away with various other food sources. Equally as with actively feeding them, any type of readily available food source will have them group into your home. See to it that all trash is correctly sealed and positioned in a bin with the lid shut. Inspect the garden prevention pointers listed below if you have a vegetable garden.
Seal all feasible access factors
While checking the outside of your house for potential nesting areas, pay certain attention to your eaves and attic room. Sealing the openings a pigeon might utilise is a very effective exclusion tactic.
Just how to eliminate pigeons however not other birds.

Exactly how do specialists remove pigeons?
If you have actually attempted every one of the formerly stated approaches fruitless and also go to your wit's end, it is time to call the specialists.
Ultrasonic gadgets - the sonic modern technology sends acoustic waves that puzzle pigeons and make them want to fly far from the area. Due to the fact that it drives birds off of plants, it's commonly used in agriculture. Nonetheless, the device is brand-new to the bigger public which makes it difficult to discover. The device is additionally a momentary remedy to the trouble-- when you turn it off, nothing stops the birds from returning. The Lipigât
Forgive me for the cliché, but there is truly no more disturbing kind of beast than those that walk among us. In the ranks of such deceivers, beware the most terrifying and insidious of their ilk, the blood drinkers. These are creatures of cunning, sin, and defilement, I sincerely warn you, noble reader, beware the ravenous Lipigât.
The modus operandi of the Lipigât is to remain as indistinguishable from a normal human being as possible, typically through the use of concealing clothing and careful social maneuvering. When disguised, their only noticeable physical trait is the naturally pale skin of their head, feet, and hands. When their dress is removed, the repulsive nature of the creature is laid bare. The majority of the Lipigât’s body is covered in thick, bulging, red veins, which ungulate in an disconcerting and unnatural rhythm.
Yet even when undressed, one might still confuse them for a human being, although a severely diseased and deformed one. No, it is only when the creature feeds that its deception truly shatters. When preparing to feed, the Lipigât opens its mouth, unhinging its jaw like a serpent, revealing a second more worm-like mouth. Like the proboscis of a grotesquely large leech, this fanged maw extends out from the exterior mouth. Typically, four to seven inches long, this hungry appendage latches on to a victim along major arteries, and begins draining them of their bodily fluids. An adult Lipigât typically needs to feed only once every six to seven days, consuming an average of four pints of human blood plasma. Such feedings generally take downwards of an hour, leaving the victim disoriented, enfeebled, but not completely beyond the possibility of survival. Behaviorally, the Lipigât displays sociopathic tendencies, such as a complete lack of conscience or empathy, yet a remarkable ability to feign both effectively. These creatures view humans as nothing more than a source of food or reproduction, and have no qualms in taking a life to preserve their own.
The lifecycle of the Lipigât is disturbing, blurring the line between parasitism and symbiosis. The creature actually starts as two separate organisms, a larval Lipigât and a human host. Until it reaches maturity, the larva gestate in the stomach of its mother Lipigât. This larval creature resembles a bloated leech, dark red in colour, and fat in the middle. Once it’s ready to be “born” the newly matured worm bites its way free of its mother's stomach, and enters the body of its new host through the mouth. While the specifics remain a mystery, one thing is clear, once the matured worm enters the host body, they begin an immediate process of amalgamation. Through autopsy, we know that dozens of tendrils sprout from the abdomen of the parasite, and weave themselves into every organ of the host. Complete symbiosis is likely achieved when these tendrels make their way into the host brain. As the final transformation begins, the body of the worm wraps itself around the host’s spine, while the host begins exhibiting the exterior physical appearances of a mature Lipigât.
According to experts and hunters of these creatures, modern Lipigât prefer to infect affluent or titled members of societies. Outwardly, their facade typically appears selflessly charitable, incredibly kind, or charming in the extreme. However, in truth, their nature is steeped in vulgarity and depravity. A universal quality amongst this species is a unrepentant lust for violating social taboo, and an almost euphoric enjoyment of all manner of wickedness and perversion. Interestingly, the nature of their sinful indulgence appears completely reliant on the culture to which they currently inhabit, and not on the actual enjoyment of such deeds. For example, if a Lipigât inhabited a culture where the consumption of potatoes was considered grave trespass on decency, once out of sight, the Lipigât would do everything in its power to acquire and consume the starchy root vegetable. In a way, this behaviour seems almost proforminative, as the Lipigât tend to display their “vulgarity” to their imprisoned victims before feedings. It is unclear why Lipigâts do this. Some experts suggest that it is tantamount to a cat playing with its prey, while others assert that it could be a twisted attempt at courtship.
Among the superstitious of Aeternus, The Lipigât is commonly confused with bloodsucking spirits of eastern West Continent legend, when in fact, it was likely the Lipigât which inspired such myths. Historical evidence of these creatures suggests that they have existed among us for some time. Recent archaeological finds in the newly acquired province of Misr reveal ancient murals which depict scenes of Lipigât feeds, as well as detailed accounts of their reproductive cycle. Similar evidence has been observed in the oral traditions of the people of Gree, suggesting that Lipigât have been present on the South Contenant for upwards of seven thousand years. All of this evidence makes one thing clear: This parasite has been preying on humanity successfully since ancient times.
“White mask, white mask, passion in his dead eyes and hunger between his lips. Save me Lord, oh save me, lest I become his supper, or worse, become him.” -Prayer to Sun, the god of the Jioni tribe of the South Continent

revamping notes & facts
Grandmother is polyamorous, has two lovers. One fathered three children when the other only fathered Kaidan. One a psi-vampire the other a blood drinker.
Grandmother is a pureblooded but neither of her lovers is one.
Bloodsucking vampires are harder to have children with and will commonly be born a stillborn. Kaidan was born weak due to this and so was the baby bats because of their mother, Carina, was a blood drinker as well.
It’s easier to have children with psi vampires because by taking in life force, they become partially alive, thus, with the vampire disease already affecting the placenta, the survival rate is far greater as if the child died, the vampirism already in its system would keep it alive... or undead.
Kaidan having a vampire-vampire father ate his older brother Mercrucio to become stronger. Kaidan performed the act of cannibalism and drained him of all blood, and he did, in fact, become stronger.
The baby bats’ mother is French and so is their Grandmother. Both of Demonica’s ( Grandmother’s ) husbands are British. The family is very half British half French.
Alucard ( his real name is Amathaon ) was close to the baby bats’ surrogate mother, but that didn’t stop them from fighting every once in a while like the Brits and the French stereotypically do.
Because Kaidan got stronger from cannibalizing their brother, Alucard feeds his children his own blood in hopes of making them less ill, but it’s only ever a temporary solution as it eventually wears off.
Alois is the sickest out of the triplets, always seeming to be on death's door as his vampirism isn’t as strong as his brother’s or his sisters.
Dude to the families ethnicity, French is commonly spoken in the household, and the baby bats have an odd accent due to learning how to speak from both of their parents. They may also commonly switch between the two accents, depending on what feels more natural to them at the time.
Going to try and stick VERY CLOSE to the typical lore of vampires for this. ( Make sure to re-read these pages note to self... Here, here, here, here, here, here and here and here and here and here and here and here. ) Keep it very typical. Don’t over do it again.
The family bought a 10 bedroom terraced house in London (reference) to use as a vampire den for the whole family. It took quite a lot of money gathered up over years. ( Vampires don't have a high food, heat, electricity or even water bill for obvious reasons. ) The ones who pitched in the most were Kaidan and Demonica as Alucard disappeared for over a century.
Kaidan was the one who turned Carina into a vampire. She was part of a hunter family and sadly her father killed her for becoming a vampire and for bearing vampiric children. in return, Kaidan killed him. Kaidan and Carina’s girlfriend gave her a very proper funeral after this as a final goodbye.
The triplets watched their mother be murdered at the age of 15.
The baby bats, Amber, Aluin and Alois, picked up their Wiccan religion from their mother.
Amber didn't finish High School, she decided it wasn't worth her time as she became very serious about ballet and going to a dance school instead --- with special night classes not to be burned in the sun.
Alois and Aluin just very recently graduated from high school. Alois is going to go take Key Stage 5, also known as college in the US and take night classes on top of internet glasses for when he’s too sick to go. Aluin is unsure what he wants to do with his life at this point or if he even wants a higher education.
Alois has a job as a live streamer/gamer, living most of his life on the internet. And Aluin works as an art model while trying to get the band him and a few friends formed off of the ground.
A long with dance, Amber has a passion for fencing, but it always comes second.
Aluin was diagnosed with bipolar I in his second year in high school after a bad manic episode that ended in extremely reckless behaviour, delusions and paranoia. As it’s genetic, Alois and Amber are being watched for it as well.
Despite the baby bats’ age, Alucard befriended and hired Nicole ( @gamenu ) on as a babysitter and home care nurse as he wanted there to be a responsible human figure in their life so they can learn humanity and their grandmother is against this.
After Nicole helped convince Alucard to go to rehab for his alcoholism ( which made him go missing for sometimes weeks at a time ) she became a legal guardian of the baby bats.
Alois suffers from social anxiety and often has episodes when in a large crowd or having to speak to people he doesn't know.
Ela, Kaidan’s and Alucard’s sister hasn’t been seen for many years, it's unknown if she's dead.
Aluin and Alois grew up to be androgyne male’s, taking up both masculine and feminine roles.
Amber completely refuses to wear pants of any kind.
All three of the triplets ended up being queer. Aluin is gay, Alois is pansexual, and Amber is bisexual leaning more toward women. There is many jokes about this.
The family blames their height ( the shortest male being Alucard at 5′11ft, 180.34 cm ) on Demonica. She stands at 6′5ft ( 195.58cm ).
